This sound-insulating structure for a building comprises: a floor material; a ceiling material that faces the floor material in the vertical direction across a space in the building; a partition wall that extends in the vertical direction and partitions the space into a first space and a second space that are horizontally adjacent to each other; and at least surface material among a floor-side sound-insulating surface material that is attached to a portion of the floor material within the range of the thickness of the partition wall and that has a coincidence frequency different from that of the floor material, and a ceiling-side sound-insulating surface material that is attached to a portion of the ceiling material within the range of the thickness of the partition wall and that has a coincidence frequency different from that of the ceiling material.
