-19 The assembly of concrete formwork for raised hobs or steps in monolithic poured concrete floors is a relatively time consuming and complex job. The formwork needs to be both accurate and robust, but also quick to assemble and requiring as little specialist 5 skills and equipment as possible. The present invention provides a concrete formwork element or spacer that has jointing features that are configured to engage with, and to locally deform a part of the sidewall members of the formwork assembly. The local deformation, and/or any resulting friction between the concrete formwork element and the sidewall member helps to hold the assembly together.
