The paddle plate (200) can have a trumpet-shape tapering from flared forward edge to a plate tail (204) disposed toward the concaved bucket back (118). The bucket may be configured as a wedge bottomed bucket and include a plurality of spacer wedges (240) disposed between and spacing apart the bucket underside (198) and the paddle plate (200).
