A flooring support system which utilises a kit of joining components to join cooperating members of the floor support system; the floor system comprising: supporting post locations in spaced apart relationship and each comprising a support post having a first end in contact with a ground engaging anchor, a second opposite end which receives and retains a stump top; the stump top including at least one opening which facilitates connection of said stump top to the post, a plate on the stump top which receives a bearer or joist and fastening elements which fix said plate to the bearer or joist.
