The invention relates to a safety net for rockfall protection barriers, comprising two outer supports (1a, 1d) anchored to the slope or cliff and at least two inner supports (1b, 1c) anchored to the slope or cliff, and cable guide elements (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d) for two respective upper net body support cables (3, 4) and two lower net body support cables and arranged at the upper and lower ends of the outer and inner supports (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d), characterised in that one of the two upper net body support cables (3 or 4) passes through a cable guide element (2b, 2c) of the inner supports (1b, 1c) and one of the two lower net body support cables passes through a cable guide element of the inner supports and is guided past neighbouring upper and lower cable guide elements of the inner supports.
