The invention relates to a sliding door (100) for use as an escape and sliding door, having a drive (104) which is actuated by a door controller (102) of the sliding door (100). The door controller (102) is configured so as to receive signals from a sensor system (106) comprising multiple sensors and optionally from a higher-order central station (146), wherein the door controller (102) is designed to actuate the drive (104) in order to carry out a control opening process (120) of the sliding door (100) during a control operation (112) if the sensor system (106) or the central station (146) signals that at least one opening condition (122) has been satisfied and the sensor system (106) signals an approach (116) of the sliding door (100), and the door controller (102) is designed to switch to an emergency operation (114) if the sensor system or the central station (146) signals an emergency (144). In the emergency operation (114), the door controller (102) is designed to actuate the drive (104) to carry out an emergency opening (128) if at least one sensor of the sensor system (106) signals an approach (116) of an inner face (126) of the sliding door (100) regardless of whether the sensor system (106) or the central station (146) has signaled that the at least one opening condition (122) has been satisfied.

In the emergency operation (114), the door controller (102) is designed to actuate the drive (104) to carry out an emergency opening (128) if at least one sensor of the sensor system (106) signals an approach (116) of an inner face (126) of the sliding door (100) regardless of whether the sensor system (106) or the central station (146) has signaled that the at least one opening condition (122) has been satisfied.
