There is disclosed an example of a formwork system (10) for forming a rebate (12) in a slab (14). The formwork system (10) may include: one or more formwork members (24) shaped to form the rebate (12); one or more supports (28) adapted to stand from a ground surface; and one or more brackets (30) having a first end adapted to attach to the one or more supports (28) and a second end adapted to connect to the one or more formwork members (24) so as to locate the one or more formwork members (24) in a spaced apart and elevated position relative to the ground surface. Other examples of the formwork system and related methods are also disclosed.
