This inversion consist of four plates that allow a standard mortice lock to be installed into a door that once accommodated a Gainsborough 3400 mortice lock. This patent dose not cover the standard mortice lock, only the four plates that allow this lock to be used in such a position on a door. This inversion is designed to allow you to replace an existing Gainsborough 3400 mortice lock that has been fitted to a door with a mortice lock of an Australian standard size. The Gainsborough 3400 mortice lock is a lock with a larger sized face plate located on the edge of the door, and also a unique handle and cylinder configuration, where the handle is located at the top of the lock and the cylinder is located below the handle. The challenge when replacing an existing Gainsborough 3400 mortice lock with a standard mortice lock made to the regular Australian standards, is that the locks have different footprints. This invention allows you to install the standard sized mortice lock in the same plate on the door and will accommodate the existing holes made when the Gainsborough 3400 lock was installed. The end result is a lock that can operate in the same position and cover the existing holes.
