RAIL FOR TRACK-BORNE RAIL VEHICLES, AND METHOD FOR MOUNTING IT
The subject matter of the invention is a rail and a method for mounting a rail for track-borne rail vehicles with an upper structure (17) which is provided above a load-bearing substrate (12) and with rail supporting blocks (18) which are laid on the upper structure (17) and to which rails (19) are fastened in the desired vertical and lateral orientation. In order, in this way, to provide a route which is suitable for normal rail traffic and, in particular, also for high-speed traffic, can be produced simply and inexpensively and can also be repaired again rapidly in the case of damage, the invention proposes that the upper structure (17) be produced from coarse grain ballast mixture with a bed line of from 0/16 to 0/56 which is compressed before the rail supporting blocks (18) are laid. The use of the coarse grain ballast mixture provided according to the invention and the compression thereof make it possible to provide an upper structure having a sufficiently great load-bearing capability and dimensional stability for the railway. The rail supporting blocks can be mounted on the compressed layer consisting of the coarse grain ballast mixture without further measures such as previously on a supporting layer made from asphalt or concrete, and maintain their lateral and vertical positional accuracy during operation of the track even after long-lasting, repeated loading as a result of trains passing over them.
