The invention relates to a fitting (10), in particular for a piece of kitchen or bathroom furniture (40), comprising a main part (11) that protrudes substantially perpendicularly from an installation surface (30) when the fitting (10) is installed and comprising a drain actuation device that is arranged on the fitting (10), interacts with a force transmission means (13), by means of which a drain plug (20) can be operated, and comprises a handling element (13), which is arranged on the fitting (10) in a movable manner relative to the rest of the fitting (10), preferably in a rotatable or pivotal manner. The fitting (10) is characterized in that the handling element (13) can be moved about an actuation axis that is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis (L) of the main part (11), preferably in a rotatable or pivotal manner, in order to mechanically act on the force transmission means (15).
