An adjustable brace can comprise an outer tube and an inner tube. A carriage can be housed within the outer tube and can comprise a threaded portion. The inner tube can comprise a threaded end configured to mate with the threaded portion 5 of the carriage. At least the threaded portion of the carriage can be disposed within the outer tube. The carriage and the outer tube can be configured so that the length of the adjustable brace can be adjusted via the position of the carriage within the outer tube.
