Abstract A picket support comprises a platform adapted to be placed on a ground surface and a footing mounted on the platform. The footing comprises a cavity for removably receiving a lowermost end of the picket into the footing, wherein the cavity comprises a plurality of laterally radially extending channels for receiving a plurality of respective planar sections of the lowermost end of the picket, wherein the planar sections extend radially from a longitudinal axis of the picket, such that the footing supports the picket in a substantially upright orientation relative to the platform. 301- 18 36- 42
