A joining strip 10 for MDF panels having a first side 11 and a second side 12. The strip in this embodiment is about 10mm wide and about 3mm thick and the side 11 has a face comprising in this case nine ribs 13 and is matched on its opposite side with the same ribs 13 directly opposite the ribs on side 11. There is a central rib 14 and there are four ribs on either side along with a bulged rounded ends 15 and 16 along the opposite edges of the strip.
