BLADE SEGMENT AND BLADE ASSEMBLY FOR A SURFACE WORKING VEHICLE
A segmented blade comprised of overlapping blade segments is disclosed herein. Each blade segment overlaps with adjacent segments thereby providing for an overlapping joint between segments. The overlapping joint reduces erosion and/or washout of the underlying moldboard. Further, in one embodiment, the overlapping joint may include a connector hole such as a bolt hole through which a bolt detachably connects the overlapped sections of adjacent blade segments with the moldboard. Such a connection increases the strength of the connection as well as the strength of the moldboard in the region of the connection. This allows for smaller blade segments to be used and allows for segments which are of a suitable size to be manhandled by a single operator without jeopardizing the strength of the moldboard and/or the longevity of the moldboard.
Une lame segmentée constituée de segments de lame chevauchants est décrite aux présentes. Chaque segment de lame chevauche les segments adjacents, ce qui permet dobtenir un joint à recouvrement entre les segments. Le joint à recouvrement réduit lérosion et/ou laffouillement du versoir sous-jacent. De plus, dans un mode de réalisation, le joint à recouvrement peut comprendre un trou de raccordement, comme un trou de boulon, à travers lequel un boulon relie de manière amovible les sections en chevauchement de segments de lame adjacents avec le versoir. Un tel raccordement augmente la force du raccordement ainsi que la force du versoir dans la zone du raccordement. Cela permet lutilisation de segments de lame plus petits et lobtention de segments dune taille convenable pour la manipulation par un seul opérateur sans compromettre la résistance du versoir et/ou sa longévité.
