LAMINATE CONCRETE PANELS FOR USE AS COUNTERTOPS OR THE LIKE
Laminate concrete panels and methods for fabricating same employ a plywood core or substrate onto which thin concrete layers with polyvinyl alcohol fibers are applied using spray techniques. In one embodiment, a countertop template is created at the installation site, and subsequently used at a remote fabrication site to cut the core to the customized size and shape before application the sprayed concrete layers. In some embodiments, the core or substrate and overlying concrete layers are left exposed at one or more edges to provide visually contrasting layers creating a unique appearance over conventional countertops. Edge covering pieces visually contrasting the concrete itself can also be installed to further characterize the appearance of the countertop, and may be removably installed to allow swapping out of different edge pieces to reconfigure the countertop appearance over time.

Linvention utilise un centre ou un substrat de contreplaqué sur lequel sont appliquées de minces couches de béton contenant des fibres de polyalcool de vinyle, à laide de techniques de vaporisation. Selon un mode de réalisation, un gabarit de comptoir est créé sur un site dinstallation, puis utilisé à un endroit de fabrication à distance afin de couper le centre selon une taille et une forme personnalisées, avant lapplication des couches de béton vaporisées. Selon certains modes de réalisation, le centre ou le substrat et les couches de béton sus-jacentes demeurent exposés à une ou à plusieurs extrémités pour montrer des couches visuellement contrastées, créant ainsi une apparence unique par rapport aux comptoirs conventionnels. Des pièces de recouvrement dextrémité, qui offrent aussi un contraste visuel avec le béton, peuvent être installées pour personnaliser davantage lapparence du comptoir. Elles peuvent être installées de façon temporaire pour permettre le remplacement des différentes pièces dextrémité, dans le but de reconfigurer lapparence du comptoir au fil du temps.
