METHOD FOR REDUCING STACK EFFECT IN A HOUSE
A method for reducing the effects of the stack effect in a house with or without a combustion appliance is presented herein. The method comprising the steps of: creating a substantially air tight space in the lower portion of the house by sealing at least one of cracks, leaks and openings in the lower portion of house; improving airflow in the attic space of the house by at least one of installing soffits around the roof line, increasing a total number of soffits, and cleaning/clearing debris blocking airflow through pre-existing soffits; and creating at least one airflow path, direct or indirect, from the lower portion of the house to the attic space. If there is a combustion appliance the method further comprises the step of creating a combustion airflow path between the chimney stack and the attic space.
Linvention concerne une méthode de réduction des effets cheminée dans une maison avec ou sans un appareil à combustion. La méthode comprend les étapes suivantes : créer un espace sensiblement hermétique dans la partie inférieure de la maison en scellant au moins une des fissures, des fuites et des ouvertures dans la partie inférieure de la maison; en améliorant lécoulement dair dans le comble de la maison au moins un des soffites dinstallation autour de la ligne de toiture, en augmentant un nombre total de soffites, et en nettoyant/dégageant des débris bloquant lécoulement dair par des soffites préexistants; et en créant au moins un trajet découlement dair, direct ou indirect, depuis la partie inférieure de la maison jusquau comble. En présence dun appareil à combustion, la méthode comprend en outre létape de création dun trajet découlement dair à combustion entre un tuyau de cheminée et le comble.
