COMPOUND SINTERED BODY AND SURFACE-COATED BORON NITRIDE SINTERED BODY TOOL
A composite sintered compact that contains cubic boron nitride particles and binder particles. The composite sintered compact contains 40-80 vol% inclusive of the cubic boron nitride particles. The binder particles contain TiCN particles. In an X-ray diffraction spectrum using Cu-Ka lines as a radiation source, the sintered compact shows a first peak assignable to the (200) face of the TiCN particles within a Bragg angle 2? range of 41.7-42.6° inclusive. When diffraction intensity in the X-ray diffraction spectrum is set as a longitudinal axis (y) and the maximum value of the peak height of the first peak is referred to as (Imax), the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of Bragg angles 2? at two or more intersection points of a line (y= Imax/2) and the first peak is not more than 0.4°.
