My quick latch is submitted as a novel idea from the existing boat latches available. It is for the purpose for entry and removal of the boat at the water. Like the rest of the ideas, it prevents a person from entering into the water or crawling over the bow of the boat to hook up or release the boat loop. However most other latches require modification to the boat in order to match up to the latch on the trailer. This is undesirable because of the damage to the boat in the retrofit. There are many different types of trailer stanchions which do not allow a boat latch to hook to the common loops manufactures have on their boats. The claim for a patent for the quick latch is the latch is mounted directly underneath the spool on the front part of the trailer on the stanchion. This method allows the catch and release for basically all boats of medium size.
