The invention relates to a spacer (4) for a road safety barrier of the type comprising a post and a rail connected to the post via the intermediary of the spacer and a connector, whereby the spacer comprises a rail support (6) comprising: - a front face (7) intended to be fastened to a rail, - a rear face (8) intended to be fastened to a post and - a flange (9) that connects the front face to the rear face, the front face comprising a notch (10) emerging on the upper edge of the front face, the notch comprising a connector housing, located in the lower portion of the notch and two convergent lateral edges connecting the connector housing to the upper edge of the front face. The invention also relates to a safety barrier comprising a spacer as claimed by the invention and to a fabrication kit for a safety barrier of this type.
