HOLE FORMER WITH GASKET LOCATING FEATURES FOR CAST MANHOLE STRUCTURES
A hole former for use in casting a gasket within an opening of a structure of the type used in underground water systems, such as a manhole. The hole former includes a body defining a central axis and an outer peripheral surface, with at least one gasket retention element projecting radially outwardly from the outer peripheral surface to interface with a corresponding locating feature of the gasket. In this manner, axial shifting or movement of the gasket with respect to the hole former is restricted, thereby positively locating and retaining the gasket on the hole former before and during the casting process. The hole former may have a compound curvature, with the gasket retained around the periphery of the hole former in a compound curved configuration.
Une forme de trou est décrite aux fins dutilisation dans le moulage dun joint plat dans une ouverture dune structure du type utilisé dans les systèmes deau souterrains, comme un trou d'homme. La forme de trou comprend un corps définissant un axe central et une surface périphérique extérieure, au moins un élément de retenue de joint étant en saillie radiale, vers l'extérieur, de la surface périphérique extérieure pour établir un lien dinterface avec une caractéristique de localisation du joint plat. De cette manière, le mouvement axial du joint plat par rapport à la forme de trou est limité pour positivement situer et retenir le joint plat sur la forme de trou avant et pendant le procédé de moulage. La forme de trou peut être une courbure complexe, le joint étant retenu autour de la périphérie de la forme de trou dans une configuration à courbure complexe.
