WINDOW SPACER FRAME PUNCH ASSEMBLY
An apparatus and method is provided for forming a spacer frame assembly used in the construction of insulating glass unit windows. The apparatus comprises a head arrangement having a body with first and second ends, the first end for coupling to a cylinder that advances and retracts the head arrangement in a reciprocating motion during operation. The second end includes an annular wedge-shaped ridge for coupling to a second annular wedge-shaped ridge of a die support, collectively the wedge-shaped ridge and second wedge-shaped ridge form a contact region to form a torus surface. The die support has at least one die for engaging a spacer frame assembly during operation. The apparatus further comprises a collar having a torus-shaped recess corresponding with the torus surface to nest and couple the body to the die support.
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé destinés à former un ensemble cadre d'espacement utilisé dans la construction de blocs-fenêtres à vitres isolantes. L'appareil comporte une configuration de tête dotée d'un corps présentant des première et deuxième extrémités, la première extrémité étant destinée à se coupler à un cylindre qui fait avancer et rétracte la configuration de tête dans un mouvement de va et vient en cours de fonctionnement. La deuxième extrémité comprend une crête annulaire en biseau destinée à se coupler à une deuxième crête annulaire en biseau d'un support de matrice, la crête en biseau et la deuxième crête en biseau formant conjointement une région de contact servant à former une surface torique. Le support de matrice comporte au moins une matrice destinée à interagir avec un ensemble cadre d'espacement en cours de fonctionnement. L'appareil comporte en outre une collerette dotée d'un évidement en forme de tore correspondant à la surface torique, servant à encastrer le corps et à le coupler au support de matrice.
