A holder for clamps is constructed to engage a horizontally extending tube of a knockdown scaffolding. The clamp holder is slidable on the tube but is prevented from separating from it by means of a catch. A release disables the catch and allows the clamp holder to be removed from the tube. The clamp holder has a bar along which a number of clamps may hang. The bar has a free end through which the clamps may be threaded onto the bar and is arranged and constructed such that when the clamp holder is set upon the tube, the clamps remain hanging from the bar unless manually removed from it.
