PREPARATION OF INURED ASPHALT BLOWN COATING
The present invention relates to a method for preparing a flexible and tough polymer modified asphalt composition which comprises sparging an oxygen containing gas through a liquid high-vinyl polybutadiene modified asphalt, wherein the liquid high-vinyl polybutadiene modified asphalt contains from about 0.25 weight percent to about 20 weight percent of the liquid high-vinyl polybutadiene, wherein the oxygen containing gas is sparged through the liquid high-vinyl polybutadiene modified asphalt at a temperature within the range of about 400°F to about 550°F for a period of time which is sufficient to increase the softening point of the asphalt to a value which is within the range of 185°F to 250°F and to attain a penetration value of at least 15 dmm to produce the polymer modified asphalt composition.
Il est décrit une méthode de préparation dune composition dasphalte modifiée avec des polymères comprenant linsufflation dun gaz renfermant de loxygène au moyen dun asphalte modifié par polybutadiène, liquide et haut en vinyle, lasphalte modifié par polybutadiène liquide et haut en vinyle contenant denviron 0,25 % en poids à environ 20,00 % en poids du polybutadiène liquide et haut en vinyle, le gaz renfermant de loxygène étant insufflé par lasphalte modifié par polybutadiène liquide et haut en vinyle qui est dans la plage denviron 204 ºC (400 ºF) à 288 ºC (550 ºF) pendant une période qui est suffisante pour augmenter le point de ramollissement de lasphalte à une valeur qui est dans la plage de 85 ºC (185 ºF) à 121 ºC (250 ºF) et pour atteindre une valeur de pénétration dau moins 15 décimillimètres pour produire la composition dasphalte modifiée avec des polymères.
