CEMENTITOUS NANOCOMPOSITE MATERIAL AND RELATED METHODS
Disclosed herein is a cementitious nanocomposite material comprising a polysaccharide-functionalized inorganic nanotube dispersed in a cement matrix material. The polysaccharide-functionalized inorganic nanotube may be a polysaccharide-functionalized halloysite nanotube. Also disclosed herein is a cementitious nanocomposite material comprising a polysaccharide-functionalized jute fiber dispersed in a cement matrix material. Methods of making such cementitious nanocomposite materials are also provided as are methods of cementing within wellbores using such cementitious nanocomposite materials. Uses of polysaccharide-functionalized inorganic nanotubes and polysaccharide-functionalized jute fibers as dispersants in cements are also provided.
