DOCK FRAME WITH REINFORCED LEDGE TO SUPPORT DECKING
A dock frame that supported deck members thereon to form a dock structure, is formed primarily by a pair of side trusses that extend longitudinally along opposing sides of the dock frame. Each side truss has a top chord, a bottom chord, and a plurality of struts connected between the chords. A support flange on the top chord forms a ledge to support the deck members thereon. Each strut lies in overlapping arrangement along an inner side surface of both the top and bottom chords while being abutted at a top end of the strut with a bottom side of the support flange. The placement of the struts provides a large contact area for welding a stronger connection between the struts and the chords, while also providing further support to the ledge that supports the deck members thereon.
