GYPSUM WALLBOARD WITH ENHANCED FIRE RESISTANCE, AND RELATED COATINGS AND METHODS
Disclosed are an organic binder-based coating; a composite gypsum board containing face and back cover sheets, an outside surface of the back cover sheet bearing the coating; and a method of preparing composite board where the back cover sheet contains the coating on its outer surface. The coating is formed from a composition comprising an alkaline silicate, a solid filler, and optionally, a borate. An enhancing layer can also be applied to the back cover sheet.
L'invention concerne un revêtement à base de liant organique ; une plaque de plâtre composite contenant des feuilles de couverture avant et arrière, une surface extérieure de la feuille de couverture arrière portant le revêtement ; et un procédé de préparation de plaque composite dans lequel la feuille de couverture arrière contient le revêtement sur sa surface externe. Le revêtement est formé à partir d'une composition comprenant un silicate alcalin, une charge solide et éventuellement un borate. Une couche d'amélioration peut également être appliquée sur la feuille de couverture arrière.
