The invention relates to a cover system (100) comprising a cover (10) and a fastener (50), for at least temporarily rendering inoperative a urinal (130) fixed to a wall (110) and/or a floor (120), wherein the fastener (50) connects the cover (10) to the wall (110) and/or the floor (120), and wherein the cover (10) has a self-supporting body (12) which, in the intended state of use, covers the urinal (130) at least at an upper part (136) at least up to its bowl opening (134). The invention further relates to a cover (10) for such a cover system (100).
