The invention discloses an aliphatic water reducer and a preparation method thereof. The aliphatic water reducer is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 45-60 parts of sulfite, 40-50 parts of alkali, 5-9 parts of glycerol, 150-250 parts of water, 40-55 parts of acetone, 10-15 parts of phosphate and 120-160 parts of formaldehyde. The aliphatic water reducer product disclosed by the invention has high water reducing performance and high slump retaining performance.
