Carbon material having thermal sprayed coating layer
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a carbon material which exhibits excellent oxidation wear resistance and in which there is excellent adhesion between a substrate and a coating layer. The carbon material is characterized by comprising: a carbonaceous substrate; a silicon carbide-containing carbonized layer which is formed on the surface of the carbonaceous substrate, has an arithmetic surface roughness (Ra) of at least 1mum, a Vickers hardness (HV) of at least 50, and in which the penetration depth of a portion which penetrates from the surface of the carbonaceous substrate is at least 50mum; and a thermal sprayed coating layer which is formed on the surface of the silicon carbide-containing carbonized layer. Therein, a top coat layer may be provided on the surface of the thermal sprayed coating layer.
