The invention discloses a preparation method of modified sintered corundum and belongs to the technical field of production of refractory materials. The preparation method specifically comprises the following steps: mixing 20-75wt% of high aluminum bauxite with 25-80wt% of commercial alumina, adding 0.2-2wt% of a modifier, performing wet-method co-grinding, adding 1-2wt% of a bonding agent, and stirring uniformly to obtain slurry a; dehydrating the slurry a to obtain material b; shaping the material b by virtue of a vacuum hard plastic extruder to obtain a green brick c; drying the green brick c by virtue of a drying oven to obtain a green brick d; and firing the green brick d by virtue of an electric furnace to obtain the modified sintered corundum e. The preparation method has the advantages that MgO, CeO2 and Y2O3 are used as the modifiers, the sintering temperature is reduced during sintering, and the performance and normal temperature strength of a corundum product are significantly improved.
