The invention relates to a metal roof for building a plant, in particular to a snow guard rod for a metal roof. The snow guard rod comprises a handrail arranged on the lower edge of the metal roof. The snow guard rod is characterized in that a supporting column is arranged at the lower portion of the handrail, the supporting column is fixedly connected with a support of the metal roof, the bottom of the handrail is hinged to the upper portion of the supporting column, an iron sliding groove with a downward opening is formed in the side, away from the metal roof, of the bottom of the handrail, a rotating piece is hinged to the upper portion of the supporting column, the rotating piece and the iron sliding groove are clamped, a magnet is embedded on the rotating piece, an interception net is arranged at the lower portion of the guardrail, and a fence-shaped guard rod is arranged at the upper portion of the handrail. The snow guard rod for the metal roof adopting the technical scheme is simple in structure, can avoid the phenomenon that a large amount of snow is accumulated on the metal roof and meanwhile can avoid the phenomenon that accumulated snow rapidly falls down.
