The invention provides a compound polycarboxylate superplasticizer which contains a polycarboxylate masterbatch, an organic solvent and a retarder, wherein the application amount of the organic solvent accounts for 2-12% of the weight of the polycarboxylate masterbatch; and the number of carbon atoms in the organic solvent is 1-6. The compound polycarboxylate superplasticizer is prepared by mixing the polycarboxylate masterbatch with the organic solvent firstly, then adding the retarder into the obtained mixture, and mixing the obtained object. According to the invention, an organic solvent is adopted for replacing a defoaming agent and an air-entraining agent adopted currently, and the organic solvent is adopted for improving the surface tension of the polycarboxylate masterbatch so as to control the air content of the masterbatch, so that the air content of the polycarboxylate superplasticizer is suitable and stable; the adopted organic solvent is wide in source, low in price and stable in character, and has no toxic or side effect, so that the compounding production cost of the polycarboxylate superplasticizer can be significantly reduced; a preparation method of the polycarboxylate superplasticizer is simple; and after the compound polycarboxylate superplasticizer disclosed by the invention, as a concrete admixture, is added into concrete, the properties of the concrete can reach, even exceed the properties of existing concrete.
