The invention discloses a bridge gap residue cleaning device with a variable speed. The bridge gap residue cleaning device is used for cleaning residues in a gap (such as an expansion joint) in a bridge (9) and comprises a support plate (8), wherein the support plate (8) is used for stretching across the gap and is fixedly connected with the lower end of a vertical bracket (81), the upper end of the vertical bracket (81) is fixedly connected with a driving motor (82), a gearbox (1) is arranged at the lower part of the driving motor (82), a driving sleeve (820) is arranged at the lower part of the gearbox (1) and is in power connection with the lower part of the gearbox (1), and the outer surface of the driving sleeve (820) is connected with the upper part of an inner hole of a sliding sleeve (7) by virtue of keying fit.
