The invention discloses a building material with a humidity adjustment effect. The building material comprises the following raw materials by weight: 40-60 parts of gypsum, 10-15 parts of wood fiber, 8-15 parts of bamboo fiber, 15-20 parts of croscarmellose grafted acrylamide, 3-8 parts of bentonite, 5-10 parts of diatomite, 4-8 parts of cement, 1-6 parts of a retarder, 0.3-1 part of a preservative, and 1-3 parts of a toughening agent. Compared with traditional construction materials, the building material provided by the invention has remarkable humidity adjustment effect, can ensure comfort of the indoor environment and reduce the harmfulness of environment to the human body, and also has the characteristics of ventilation and air purification, thus having broad application prospects.
