The invention discloses a high-temperature iron-red glaze and a preparation method thereof. The high-temperature iron-red glaze is a single-layer reaction crystalline glaze and comprises the following components in parts by mass: 35-45 parts of feldspars, 20-23 parts of quartz, 10-12 parts of calcite, 3-5 parts of kaolin, 5-8 parts of zinc oxide, 8-10 parts of titanium dioxide, 8-12 parts of dolomite, 6-8 parts of wollastonite, 10-15 parts of self-burnt clinker and 15-20 parts of chromophore, wherein the self-burnt clinker comprises the following components in parts by mass: 30-40 parts of feldspars, 15-25 parts of quartz, 10-15 parts of calcite and 20-25 parts of zinc oxide. The high-temperature iron-red glaze disclosed by the invention not only can be stably fired at a temperature of 1230-1250 DEG C, but also presents the style of ancient ceramics and has the amorous feelings of modern ceramics.
