The invention relates to BaTiO3-based PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) ceramic and a preparation method thereof. The BaTiO3-based PTC ceramic is doped BaTiO3 ceramic. The preparation method comprises the following steps of A) preparing BaTiO3-based PTC ceramic raw material powder; B) performing at least twice pre-sintering on the BaTiO3-based PTC ceramic raw material powder, wherein the pre-sintering process comprises the steps of pre-sintering at 1000-1500 DEG C and grinding; C) prilling and forming the BaTiO3-based PTC ceramic raw material powder subjected to at least twice pre-sintering to obtain ceramic blanks; D) sintering the ceramic at 1100-1500 DEG C to obtain the BaTiO3-based PTC ceramic.
