Vehicle door latch controller
A vehicle door latch controller in which the action of an electric unlatching motor for driving a ratchet is controlled so that a ratchet is caused to rotate from an engaged position to a disengaged position in response to it being detected that a vehicle operator desires a fully latched door to be unlatched; wherein a control unit (122) initially actuates an electric unlatching motor (24) so that a ratchet (41) is caused to rotate from the engaged position to the disengaged position, the control unit (122) subsequently stopping actuation of the electric unlatching motor (24) upon it being detected that the ratchet (41) is in the disengaged position, and then actuating the electric unlatching motor (24) a predetermined amount of time thereafter so that the ratchet (41) is rotatably driven to the engaged position. The incidence of the door opening unintentionally can thereby be eliminated to the greatest extent possible, even if the door is unlatched in error.
