The invention relates to a waterproof device for underground (underwater) buildings, in particular to a method for manufacturing a vertical waterstop structure for expansion joints in concrete engineering. The vertical waterstop structure comprises a transformable plate and a steel channel and is characterized in that the transformable plate is arranged longitudinally, one half of the transformable plate is pre-buried in primary concrete while the other half of the transformable plate protrudes out of a concrete section to be arranged in an opening of the rectangular steel channel, and the steel channel is provided with fixing parts and internally filled with maltha; an open face of the steel channel and the primary concrete section are provided with asphaltic felts on two sides of the transformable plate, the exposed fixing parts are demounted after cooling of the maltha, and then secondary concrete is poured. By the method for manufacturing the vertical waterstop structure for the expansion joints in concrete engineering, the problem of water seepage caused by differential settlement or diastrophism of stratums in hydraulic engineering can be solved, and labor cost can be saved while construction period can be shortened.
