The invention provides a suspension bridge main cable PPWS construction cable strand in-situ erecting method which comprises the following steps of: 1), erecting a catwalk below a main cable; 2), erecting a hauling system; 3), arranging a plurality of movable cable strand rollers on the catwalk at intervals, wherein the axes of the movable cable strand rollers are positioned right above the main cable; 4), connecting a puller of the hauling system with one end of a cable strand, and hauling and erecting the cable strand at a preset position under the dynamic effect of a hauling winch of the hauling system and the support effect of the movable cable strand rollers; 5) after hauling and erecting the cable strand at the preset position, removing the support effects applied to the cable strand by the movable cable strand rollers, and enabling the cable strand to fall onto the main cable under the action of gravity; 6), performing sag adjustment on the cable strand when the temperature is stable at night, thereby finishing the erection of the cable strand; 7), repeating steps 1)-6), thereby finishing the erection of all cable strands of the main cable. According to the method, the cable strand can be positioned in the designed position without being subjected to lifting and lateral translation; the method has the advantages of less process links, high operating efficiency and high safety.
