The invention relates to a town residential area rainwater recovery system, which comprises a safe flow division well, a discarding flow controller, a composite flow filter and an impounding reservoir, wherein the safe flow division well is externally connected with a rainwater flow collecting pipe, is communicated with a rainwater pipe network through a discarding flow pipe, and is connected with the discarding flow controller through a rainwater collecting pipe, the discarding flow controller is connected with the composite flow filter through a pipeline, the composite flow filter is communicated with the impounding reservoir through a pipeline, an overflow pipe is arranged in a position, being 50mm higher than the water level of stored water, of the impounding reservoir, and the overflow pipe is communicated with a rainwater pipe network through a pipeline. The town residential area rainwater recovery system disclosed by the invention has the advantages that a great amount of rainwater is remained in the field, and the part of rainwater is directly or indirectly utilized, so that the annual rainwater integral utilization rate in the field is greater than 85 percent, the requirement that the annual runoff volume control rate in the newly built region is not lower than 85 percent can be met, and the effect that the total quantity of outwards discharge water after the development is not greater than the level before the development is achieved.
