Sintered alumina particle
The invention relates to a sintered particle manufactured from a feedstock containing 4 wt % to 25 wt % of zircon relative to the weight of the dry feedstock, and having the following chemical composition, in weight percent for a total of 100%: 70 % <= Al2O3, Al2O3 forming the remainder up to 100 %; 3 %<= ZrO2 + HfO2<= 18 %, with HfO2<= 1 %; 1 %<= SiO2<= 10 %; 0.3 % <= CaO <= 2 %, with CaO <= 0.6 % if Al2O3 <= 79 %; less than 5 % of other components; and the following crystallised phases, in weight percent of the crystallised phases included: 65% <= corundum; corundum constituting the remainder up to 100 %; 3 % <= zirconia + hafnium, optionally stabilised <= 21 %; mullite <= 16 %; less than 5 % of other crystallised phases; and a total porosity of no higher than 5 %.
