The invention relates to the field of home decoration, and particularly relates to an artificial jade spar material and a preparation method thereof. The artificial jade spar material is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by weight: 1000-1200 parts of unsaturated polyester resin, 2-3 parts of cobalt iso-octoate, 3-4 parts of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide and 1500-1800 parts of aggregate, wherein the aggregate comprises aluminium hydroxide and alumina at a weight ratio of (1-2):(8-9). The preparation method comprises the following steps: evenly stirring and pouring all the components and performing vacuumizing treatment so as to avoid generation of bubbles and influence on the attractiveness, curing and forming and grinding and spraying uv vanish and delivering into a uv photocuring machine and curing again. By virtue of the implementation of the technical scheme, the problems that the existing artificial jade spar material is long in formation time, easiness for generation of bubbles, heavy in the weight of the finished products, easy to fragment and break during the production can be solved.
