Elastic gap type viscous damper used on highway bridge
The invention relates to an elastic gap type viscous damper used on a highway bridge. A damping ring made of a low-modulus elastic material sleeves a piston and is fixed to the outside of the piston through a fastener. A piston rod moves relative to the axial direction of a cylinder to drive the piston and the damping ring fixed to the piston to move synchronically in a cavity between a left seal guide unit and a right seal guide unit to further squeeze energy consumption liquid to flow through a gap between the damping ring and the wall of the cylinder at high speed, so that the viscous shear stress and the associated pressure stress are produced in the gap, the damping ring is compressed by the pressure stress and performs radial shrinkage strain, and the gap is expanded to improve the energy consumption efficiency of the damper accordingly. The elastic gap type viscous damper used on the highway bridge solves the problems of high design and machining difficulty, sudden damping force decreasing, high damper mounting requirements and the like of a common variable gap damper.
