The invention provides an underground fire hydrant. The underground fire hydrant comprises a box body laid below the ground surface, a box cover matched with the box body and a fire hydrant body. The underground fire hydrant further comprises an elastic device. The upper end of the elastic device is connected with the bottom of the fire hydrant body through a short shaft. The fire hydrant body rotates around the short shaft and the lower end of the elastic device is fixedly connected with the bottom of the box body. An upper positioning lug and a lower positioning lug are fixedly arranged on the fire hydrant body and a positioning device for supporting the fire hydrant body is fixedly arranged in the box body. The underground fire hydrant has the beneficial effects of being not prone to collision, simple in structure and convenient to operate. The problems that an existing outdoor fire hydrant is prone to collision and an existing underground fire hydrant is high in manufacturing cost, complex in structure is complex and inconvenient to operate are solved.
