The invention provides a composite ceramic thick brick comprising a concrete base, wherein a ceramic surface layer is arranged on the concrete base; and the thickness of the concrete base is greater than that of the ceramic surface layer, and the thicknesses of the concrete base and the ceramic surface layer are 30-120mm. According to the composite ceramic thick brick and a manufacturing method thereof provided by the invention, the ceramic surface layer avoids the defects that a concrete brick is relatively poor in frost resistance, durability and decorative aesthetic property and the like, and compared with a ceramic thick brick with the same volume, the two types of bricks are different in raw material, wherein the concrete base is relatively low in cost, so that on the premise that the performance requirement of the ceramic thick brick is met, the cost of the whole composite ceramic thick brick can be reduced.
