The invention relates to a calcium aluminate based refractory castable and application thereof to casting production. The calcium aluminate based refractory castable comprises 59.7-79.95 wt.% of a calcium aluminate cement aggregate, 20-40% of a powder and 0.05-0.3% of an additive. The invention solves the problem of aluminum alloy melt liquid pollution caused by conventional oxide aggregate, and the refractory castable has strong erosion resistance and good thermal shock resistance.
