The invention provides a vacuum insulation board. The vacuum insulation board comprises an insulation core board, and an aluminum-based gas stop film wrapped at the outer layer of the insulation core board, wherein the insulation core board comprises 94-96 mass% of high-strength polystyrene, 2-3 mass% of carbon dioxide, 0.5-1.5 mass% of ethanol and the balance of additives; the invention further provides a preparation method of the vacuum insulation board. The vacuum insulation board and the preparation method thereof are green and environment-friendly, are in favor of sustainable development of products, are quick and reliable in operation of production line, and largely reduce the production cost and the energy consumption when accelerating the machining speed. The product foam hole wall thickness is increased; the density is increased to 42-50 kg/m3; and when the heat conducting coefficient is kept constant, the strength is improved, and the creep under the condition of long-time stress can be borne. The homogenous closed hole foam structure enables the produced board to have good stability, high compressive strength and longer service life.
