The invention relates to a mechanical stone cracking method which relates to a wedge block set and an excavator quartering hammer. The wedge block set is composed of two outer wedge blocks and a middle wedge block, and the three wedge blocks are matched so that a cylinder can be formed. Different from a common excavator quartering hammer, the excavator quartering hammer is characterized in that the lower end face of a drill rod on the excavator quartering hammer is a plane, and is matched with the top face of the middle wedge block.
