The invention provides a box-type folding tent and a recreational vehicle with the box-type folding tent. The box-type folding tent comprises a main body part and a tent body, wherein the tent body is unfolded in a using state and is accommodated in the main body part in a non-use state; the box-type folding tent further comprises wheel parts and a traction part. The main body part comprises an upper part, a lower part and a side part; the upper part is connected with the lower part through a side pivot; in the non-use state, the upper part and the lower part are closed to form a box-type structure; an opening is formed in one side surface of the box-type structure; the side part is arranged on the opening of the box-type structure to seal the box-type structure. In the using state, the side part is opened outwards, the upper part is overturned along the pivot on the side surface so as to be parallel with the lower part, and a bed is formed by the overturned upper part and the lower part. The box-type folding tent provided by the invention is small in size and compact in structure and facilitates traveling in a folding state, can provide a relatively large activity and rest space in an unfolding state, and also has the advantages of diversified functions, safety, and reliability.
