The invention discloses an aerogel drying device with a mold plate for controlling drying point positions and a method for applying the aerogel drying device, and belongs to the field of aerogel manufacturing. By the aid of the aerogel drying device and the method, the problem that large areas of existing aerogel cannot be controlled and are broken in existing aerogel manufacturing drying procedures can be solved. The aerogel drying device comprises a drying pond and the first drying mold plate. An opening is formed in the top surface of the drying pond, the first drying mold plate is erected on the top of the drying pond, and a plurality of circular holes are formed in the first drying mold plate. The method for applying the aerogel drying device includes firstly, manufacturing wet aerogel by the aid of a sol-gel process; secondly, carrying out hydrophobic modification on the wet aerogel; thirdly, erecting the drying mold plate on the top surface of the drying pond and drying the wet aerogel to obtain type-I aerogel; fourthly, manufacturing type-II aerogel; fifthly, stacking the type-I aerogel and the type-II aerogel with each other. The aerogel drying device and the method have the advantages that the aerogel in the composite fiber aerogel dried by the aid of the drying mold plate can be structurally tightly combined with fibers, cracking of the aerogel is constrained in perforated regions in drying procedures, and the problem that the large areas of the existing aerogel cannot be controlled and are broken can be solved.
